Rainforest Trust: It is a US-based nonprofit committed to preserving the world’s most threatened tropical rainforests.  It is a trusted environmental organization with a 100% Charity Navigator rating. Their mission involves strategic conservation, community engagement, and saving endangered species. They also contribute to climate action through the Rainforest Climate Action Fund.

Rainforest Trust provides two types of funding support grants:
— Feasibility Awards
Assess the potential for creating or expanding protected areas. These awards fill information gaps in conservation projects, supporting legal pathways or surveys. Average size: $10,000.

— Protected or Conserved Area Creation Awards
Empower the creation and expansion of protected areas, on land or sea. Awards, with no set maximum amount, align with community and government needs. Applications of $250,000 and above have specific deadlines: March 1, June 1, November 1. Applications below $250,000 are accepted and awarded on a rolling basis.

Eligible Applicants: Legally registered NGOs in the project country with support from relevant governments, Indigenous Peoples, and local communities.
